Specialist finance takes centre stage in February issue of The Intermediary

The February issue of The Intermediary is now live, with this month’s edition dedicated to specialist finance and the evolving demands of the market.

The Specialist Finance Focus Issue brings together commentary from across the sector, including Manu Dinamani, Tanya Elmaz, Lottie Dougill, Nick Smith, Neal Moy, Alan Fletcher and others.

This month also marks the launch of a new specialist Bridging section, carving out dedicated space for what is becoming an increasingly important element of the wider specialist market.

The section features expert commentary from Leanne Ardron, Julie Meehan, Fergus Allen and David Travers.

The team secured insight from a strong line-up of industry figures for the Focus Issue. David Castling of Atom bank discusses lending milestones and commercial finance trends.

Dan Narwal at Together examines the firm’s recent brand launch and demand in the large loan market. James Bloom at Alternative Bridging Corporation looks at the outlook for residential development finance, while Alex Alexandrou at Cohort Capital explores borrower demand patterns and sustainable bridging.

This month’s Interview sees Marvin Onumonu speak with Adam Tyler at the Bridging & Development Lenders Association about the trade body’s plans and the outlook for the year ahead.

The Focus Issue feature also examines the potential for refurbishment-led investment, as bridging continues to support ‘fix and flip’ activity across the market.

Alongside the specialist coverage, the issue includes content across residential, buy-to-let, protection and second charge.

We Meet the BDM with James Tuck at Harpenden Building Society, explore horizontal digital integration with Claire Van der Zant at Novus Strategy, Meet the Broker with Asher Kenton at AS Financial, and turn to Stockport in this month’s Local Focus.

Further expert insights come from Lesley White MCIPD, Helen Pierson, Lorna Shah, Jim Boyd, Ollie Popham, Nasar Hussain, Pollyanna Puddephat, Joy Joseph Abisaab, Jeremy Duncombe, Buster Tolfree, Alice Harris, Louisa Ritchie, Rob Stanton, Kate Davies and more.

Jessica O’Connor, deputy editor at The Intermediary, said: “Specialist finance continues to evolve at pace, particularly within bridging and development.

“We wanted this issue to reflect both the complexity and opportunity within the market, while giving a dedicated platform to voices that are shaping its direction.

“The launch of our Bridging section is a natural step in that process.”
