The Intermediary has published its September 2025 issue, with this month’s special focus exploring the future of buy-to-let.
From landlord sentiment to lender strategy and the transition to greener housing stock, the issue tackles one of the most closely watched sectors in the market.
The cover feature looks at how the buy-to-let sector is responding to pressure from regulation, tax, interest rates and environmental targets, with views from across the lender and intermediary space.
Interviews this month include Daniel Clinton, head of buy-to-let mortgages at The Mortgage Works, and Mel Spencer, growth director at Target Group, alongside other lender perspectives.
The Meet the BDM spotlight features James O’Donnell of The West Brom, offering insight into regional broker engagement and product flexibility.
The issue also includes the usual mix of columnists and industry commentary, providing opinion on housing supply, regulation, protection, specialist lending and more.
Jessica Bird, managing editor of The Intermediary, said: “Buy-to-let is always an emotive topic, but the issues facing landlords and lenders today are complex, interconnected and evolving fast.
“We wanted this issue to bring clarity, raise questions, and reflect the realities brokers are navigating in this space.”
Felix Blakeston, associate publisher, added: “There’s a lot of noise around the future of buy-to-let, but our focus is always on what matters to intermediaries right now. The strength of this issue comes from the range of voices and the depth of the conversations.”
