Newspage® partners with The Intermediary to deliver broker-driven news

Newspage®, a free UK news agency, has formed a partnership with The Intermediary to introduce a broker-driven approach to news content, with stories identified and validated by mortgage brokers themselves.

The collaboration leverages the Newspage News Desk, a platform of over 50 active mortgage brokers who highlight emerging stories and verify their relevance through peer reviews. These authenticated stories are published on The Intermediary, accompanied by the Newspage logo.

Beyond broker-generated news, Newspage also supports The Intermediary in curating a multimedia live feed on busier news days, featuring TikToks and Instagram Reels where brokers share real-time perspectives on unfolding events.

Ryan Fowler, managing director at Astor Media and publisher of The Intermediary, said: “Since The Intermediary’s inception, we have made it our mission to provide news and market insights that are not only up-to-date and of the moment, but on the mark for the modern broker. We work hard to publish the stories people want to read, about the issues and events directly affecting their day-to-day lives. Partnering with Newspage will both cement and evolve this approach, giving brokers a greater voice at the same time as keeping readers well-informed.”

Felix Blakeston, operations director at Astor Media and associate publisher at The Intermediary, added: “The mortgage market, as we all know, moves incredibly fast and brokers are its bedrock. Newspage provides a great service keeping its finger on the pulse and giving brokers the opportunity to be involved directly in the conversations that matter to them. This partnership will take that conversation to a new level and give brokers an elevated platform in the trade press, creating an exciting opportunity to rethink how we approach the news.”

Dominic Hiatt, founder and CEO of Newspage®, said: “By partnering with Ryan and his team at The Intermediary, we aim to reinvent the mortgage trade media and give brokers an environment where they don’t just consume news but are the co-creators of that news via the content they generate through our News Desk and News Alerts. Our partnership with The Intermediary has now made that a reality and will build on The Intermediary’s rapid growth since it launched last year. Ryan and the team share our vision of creating a trade publication that is for brokers and powered by brokers. In time we will seek to replicate this model across every vertical.”

Katy Eatenton, mortgage and protection specialist at Lifetime Wealth Management, said: “Half of the stories published on many of the mortgage trade media either tell us what we already know or news that isn’t beneficial to our businesses. There seems to be a lot of press release regurgitation, corporate announcements and views from people who have never advised on a mortgage in their life, but very little in terms of the content that brokers want to read. Newspage has given the everyday broker a voice in the local and national media and this partnership will help create a news outlet for mortgage brokers that is fun, in a rich and multi-media format, and fit for the modern age.”

Justin Moy, founder of EHF Mortgages, added: “As brokers, we see lots of articles on industry news websites that are often no better than a ‘cut and paste’ from lender alerts that simply repeat the rate changes we already know are coming. This partnership between Newspage and The Intermediary will mean that practising brokers lead the news, prioritise what’s important, share their views and give insights into what industry changes mean for the market, brokers and borrowers alike. The intermediaries themselves now have the opportunity to drive the news through The Intermediary.”
