Astor Media has appointed Jessica Bird as managing editor of The Intermediary.

Bird will also fulfil the same role across any future launches as the publisher expands its portfolio. 

Bird brings a wealth of editorial experience across the financial services, employment, and property sectors.

Before joining Astor Media, she worked as a freelance journalist covering property finance, employment and HR, and insurance.

Prior to that, Bird held senior editorial roles at Mortgage Introducer, where she served as editor of Specialist Finance Introducer and associate editor of Mortgage Introducer.  

Her background also includes positions at DVV Media International as deputy editor of Employee Benefits, Centaur Media as deputy editor, and Chambers and Partners as deputy editor for Chambers Confidential.

As managing editor, Bird will be responsible for leading editorial strategy across The Intermediary’s website and print magazine, as well as supporting the development of new publications under the Astor Media banner.
