Astor Media acquires Touring.co.uk as it enters consumer publishing and expands automotive division

Astor Media has acquired Touring.co.uk, a long-established digital title serving the UK’s motorhome, caravan and camping audience. The acquisition marks the company’s first entry into consumer publishing and continues the expansion of its automotive division.

It is the second acquisition by Astor Media in the past month, following the purchase of Business Motoring, Business Vans, Motor Trade News, Leasing Broker News, their associated events, BCMmarketing, and the Leasing Broker Federation.

Touring.co.uk began life in 2011 as Discover Touring, a biannual magazine distributed through WHSmith, Martin McColl and major supermarkets. From 2012, full e-editions were emailed to around 50,000 subscribers, establishing an early digital footprint. Over time, the brand evolved into a dedicated digital platform offering a wide range of content for touring enthusiasts.

Today, Touring.co.uk delivers practical advice, in-depth vehicle reviews, UK and overseas travel features, and real-world tips covering the full spectrum of the touring lifestyle. Its readership includes families, retired travellers and outdoor enthusiasts across the ABC1 demographic, forming a loyal and engaged online community.

Caroline Mills, editor of Touring.co.uk, said: “It has been a pleasure to work on Touring over the years, almost since its inception in 2011 to bring the joys of touring, camping inspiration and practical help to newcomers looking to go camping for the first time and those already appreciative of outdoor leisure. To look to the future, though, is always very exciting. The acquisition by Astor Media creates new energy and opens new opportunities for Touring alongside Astor’s existing brands. I very much look forward to working with the team.”

Ryan Fowler, managing director at Astor Media, said: “Touring.co.uk is a natural extension of our publishing model—deeply specialist, highly trusted, and with a clearly defined audience. It marks our first move into the consumer space and adds strength to our growing automotive and mobility division. We’re excited to develop the brand further.”

Felix Blakeston, operations director at Astor Media, added: “This is a strategic acquisition that complements our existing footprint. Touring.co.uk has heritage, an engaged readership, and commercial potential. Our focus now is to invest in the platform, listen to the audience, and explore how we can bring new value to both readers and partners.”

Helen Thorne, finance director at Astor Media, said: “Touring.co.uk has strong fundamentals and a clearly defined niche. From a commercial perspective, it offers meaningful long-term potential—both as a standalone consumer brand and as part of our wider automotive strategy. We’re confident this will be a valuable addition to the business.”

Touring.co.uk joins a growing portfolio that includes The Intermediary, Workplace Journal, and a suite of automotive and leasing titles including Business Motoring, Motor Trade News, Leasing Broker News and Business Vans.

Astor Media is actively seeking further acquisitions and is already in early discussions with a number of other specialist titles.
